Sixth Week November 5-9th


The last week, we discovered  an error in the gravity center calculations. As we did not have enough time to correct it, and as we have been so busy during this week, we correct it the friday. First of all, we distribute the bend into 15 pieces and after that we discovered that instead being 15, were 11. As we have thought that were 15 pieces, the total perimeter of the cutting was bigger than we need it.

On the other hand, we mistake some mistakes at the time of calculating the bending perimeter. We put as reference the hole bending and we only had to put the thickness of one line.
We thought that the force of the bending and the cutting was the same but this is not true because a cutting operation, needs 80% more force than a bending operation.






The numeration of the pieces
After correcting this big mistakes, we recalculate the total perimeter of the piece. To calculate this perimeter, we sume the cutting perimeter to the bending perimeter.
As you can see in the first picture, the hole perimeter of our piece is 741mm and before correcting the mistake was 969mm.
 After correcting all the mistakes made during the last weeks, we applied the formula that appear in the photopraph. To finish, the gravity center is 3,4mm desviated from the origin.



Axys systems
During monday, we start creating the axys systems of our die´s adaptator in catia. Then, we will use this axys systems to colocate all the plates in this adaptator. This plates needs to have some parameters and relations because if we make any mistake while we design the die, we would change or solve the problem without starting from the beginning again. Apart from that, during monday, we start to introduce some plane references to the axys system. We are going to use this planes to know how much space the die provide us. To make sure that everything is going well, we had to look at the parameterization of the plates. Seeing that all responded well to any future change, we went ahead




The colums and the caps 
During thursday, we retake the tree design in Catia and we inserted some colums in the lower plate. To do this, we create two parts, the first one to pad the sketch and the second one to pad the column in the Y axys. ( vertically). To finish it we create a pocket inside column to make a hole in the lower plate.

To finish with the assembly made during this week, we chose in a catalogue called "UNCETA" some caps to introduce in the colums. We did the same steps to introduce the caps into the assembly design. The unique change compared with the last paragraph mentioned, is that in this case the hole was created for the colums could pass from the caps. 



The canon assembly done in Catia
With Julen we created some different pieces and after that we did an assembly with all of them. During the creation of the assembly, we learn to use some different Catia tools such as the relations. The relations, are used to put together different faces, axys or whatever you want. Besides that, we fixed some pieces with an icon with looks like an anchor. We learned how to use the library that Catia has. In this library, you can find different commercial pieces such as screws or washers. Finally, we created the plane of the assembly in an isometric view and apart from that we create the assembly exploded view too.




During tuesday, in Nagore´s class, Asier De Miguel, explained an AMFE that Garita supported him. This AMFE belonges to a piece that is made in Garita, and is used to give transmission to the car wheels. In this AMFE, we look different problems/mistakes or troubles that can occur since the raw material is being transported to the company until the piece is finalized. Some of the common mistakes that can appear during this process are the aparition of burs, deformations and measures out of tolerance. Apart from looking the AMFE, we see the plane of the piece and a control pattern that is provided to the operators. In this control patterns, apeare some common mistakes that can occur and how to check if the piece is correct or incorrect with images and photos.

During the english class, we did some exercises. In one of them, we read a text about the steps of doing a car and after that, we did a exercises. Apart from that, we listen a conversation between a teacher and her students. In that conversation, she told them about some studying methods and give them some advices to study in a better way. After listening the recording, we did some questions about the conversation. Moreover, looking ahead to the subject of Iranzu, on wednesday, we agreed that the group presentation we would do on 16th, Friday, in English. For this, we are going to do a prezi, which we have started doing this Friday in advance of a week.

Fifth Week October 29-31th


During this fifth week, we have started to practice different methods to assemble or join  pieces in Catia with Julen and Gaizka. To assemble pieces, we need to go the assembly design tool in order to use the part design tool. After finishing and correcting  the bend study and doing the necessary calculations to know witch press we will use, some new and complicated troubles are appearing in our way. If you want to do this well is essential to put attention in what you are doing and be concentrated because comit a error will significate to start again. We start monday doing the assembly that you can see in the first photograph and during wednesday we did the assembly that you see in the second photograph.

After revising the calculations that we did by hand to know where was our bend´s gravity center and compared with the calculations done in Catia, we realized that we made a big mistake. After looking where was the mistake we corrected it.






During monday and wednesday we look the importance of the non verbal lenguage with Iranzu. She show us a video about the Punset psicologist. In that video we look how to speak in front of people while you are selling something for example. Apart from that, we learn how to know when a person is liying or different gestures that we do when we are nervous. Iranzu´s intention is to show us how to controlate all this points. One of the videos that we see wednesday was to learn how to do a successful presentation, and the other one was about the importance of the first minute of your presentation.






With Nagore, we have started to alineate a piece done with a revolution. The measurement of this type of pieces, are more complicated that all of the pieces that we were used to measure because is done with a different method. First you have to alineate the positions of the palpator that you are going to use. Then you have to measure the three radios of the pieces and create a line that passes between the center of the three radios. We don´t finished the measurement so we will continue the next week.









During monday, apart from starting with assemblies, Gaizka show us the "design tree" of a die that did the students the last years. After explaining us how to do it, he proposed us to copy in ours PC´s. At first we thought that it was very complicated but after doing it, we realized that it was not so complicated. We need 2 hours to do, but the pattern is the same all time and is not very complicated to understand. The unique thing we think that is complicated is that you have to be paying attention all time because if you make a mistake you will had to start from the beggining.
